UNICEF’s Role and Activities Discussed in the UN Talks

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was the focus of the second programme of UN Talks. The programme was a platform where Diplomacy Academy participants made presentations on UNICEF’s missions, fields of activity and its impact especially in conflict zones.

The programme was moderated by Muhammet Emin Atcı and the details about the presentations are as follows:

Eda Akpınar commenced the program with a presentation titled “What is UNICEF?” Following that, Beyza Varol discussed the significant role of UNICEF in child protection.

Cennet Badas elaborated on UNICEF’s activities in Turkey and provided details about the UNICEF-Turkey collaboration program spanning from 2021 to 2025.

Irem Dilara Eroglu and Lutfiye Sarı tackled UNICEF’s activities on a regional basis. Eroğlu presented “UNICEF’s Activities in Gaza,” while Sarı covered “UNICEF’s Activities in Africa.”

Meftune Kalemoglu compared UNICEF’s activities across different regions, examining its initiatives in countries that are Permanent Members of the UN.

The final presentation was delivered by Sefa Zengin, who emphasized the significance of UNICEF’s work and its role in shaping public opinion. Zengin specifically focused on the impact of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors.
