This week, in the presentations on the theme of COP-29 Azerbaijan within the scope of the “UN Talks” program, the topic “Sustainability in the Energy Sector in Azerbaijan” was discussed. In the program organized by Divan Association Turkish World Monitoring Center, Ömer Faruk Arslan made his presentation on “Sustainability in the Energy Sector: Evaluation of the energy sector in Azerbaijan from a sustainability perspective and renewable energy resources”. In his presentation, Arslan briefly talked about the importance of the concept of sustainability and touched upon the importance of this concept in Azerbaijan. It is also noteworthy that energy is in a very important position for Azerbaijan and therefore renewable energy sources in the energy sector are increasing day by day. Oil and natural gas exports have a large share in Azerbaijan’s export products list. Therefore, diversifying the economy with renewable energy is in a critical position. Touching on this issue in the presentation, Arslan highlighted the strong will of the President of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan’s “Green Energy Zone” plan. Finally, touching on foreign direct investments, Arslan mentioned the place of foreign direct investors in energy investments in Central Asia and that foreign investments can invest more in Azerbaijan through COP-29.
